This past weekend I surprised my wife with tickets to an Outstanding in the Field event held on Devil's Gulch Ranch in Marin County, CA. We were celebrating our first anniversary, and we had heard these dinners were absolutely incredible. It did not disappoint, so here is my review (although I already know I can't do it justice).

Outstanding in the Field puts on events all over the world, usually just one night in each city, where they bring a group of 100-200 people to a local farm to enjoy a delicious meal cooked using animals and produce grown on that particular farm. When the events aren't on farms, they use locally sourced ingredients. The idea is to have an amazing dinner in a magical setting that brings you closer to the origin of the food you're eating. In addition to putting on an unbelievable meal, they hope you come away with a further appreciation of where food comes from.
