I’ve got a close eye on a changing industry.
I’ve been very fortunate because I’ve been able to see the music industry through many different lenses. Here’s my background.
Digital Marketing Visionary
I’m the founder and president of ArtistData, a site that helps over 15,000 musicians efficiently leverage many of the online promotional and social media tools without having to spend all day doing so. We identify which channels are valuable and build software to connect them so artists can update them all at once. We’ve helped our artists with almost 2 million updates! It’s fun for us, artists love it, and we enjoy helping them have more time to be creative.
Manager / Label
I started as a manager and label guy at Aware Records / Asquared Management working with artists at all different stages of careers and album cycles, such as Mat Kearney, The Fray, John Mayer, Liz Phair, Glen Phillips, and Motion City Soundtrack. I spent a lot of time there figuring out how to leverage new marketing channels.

Speaker / Mentor
I’m constantly invited to share my insights about digital marketing and utilizing social media at industry events. I try to post a lot of my schedule on the blog. At CMJ 2009, I was also asked to do one-on-one mentoring sessions with artists who had questions about online marketing. It was phenomenal. I really love participating in these events and interacting with artists and industry visionaries. It’s great fun.
Promoter / Tour Manager / Agent
I’ve also had a lot of roles directly pertaining to the live show. In college, I produced a three-day music festival, which has become one of Nashville’s biggest annual music events. I’ve also been on the road – a lot – with artists of all different sizes. I’ve tour managed them literally from 5 person audiences to sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. I also briefly spent time at Creative Artists Agency.
